Santa Severina or, as Italians say, “Santa Severina” – a small commune in eastern Calabria – was founded more than fifteen centuries ago by the Greeks. It is cheaper for tourists to get from Naples to the region by train, or by ferry, which takes you to Reggio Calabria. The city is located on a high hill and to get there, you need to overcome more than one hundred steps and steep climbs. The applied efforts pay off with interest when the walls of a medieval castle, the Cathedral and the central square of the city open to tourists.
