Tours in Misurina – the pearl of the Dolomites

Italy is always a crazy mix, which in this country is not there: mountains, seas, beaches, almost tropical forests, wheat fields. The most “mixed” cities are located near the borders, a great example can be seen if you go on vacation to Trieste, the cost of living in hotels here is much lower than in Rome and Milan. Trieste is located in the north-east of the country, at the very border with Slovenia; in it you can find ancient Roman buildings, architecture of the times of the Austrian Empire and an amazing mixture of Mediterranean styles.

Another example of Italian eclecticism is the Misurina resort in the Dolomites. The village gives a stunning contrast to the neighboring village of Cortina d’Ampezzo: in Mizurin, tourists see a quiet pastoral, and in Cortina – a secular aristocratic brilliance. The difference between the cities is only 13 km. On the maps of the highlands, all hiking trails are marked in detail, which are marked and equipped with signposts.

Many tourists independently acquire on-site the necessary equipment for a camping trip: warm and waterproof clothes, light equipment for quick cooking, a multi-function knife and a sleeping bag, or a tourist rug for relaxation. Misurina lies on the shores of the lake of the same name at the foot of the Three Peaks belonging to the Lavaredo mountain range. These places are perfect for unhurried walks, so mainly couples and older families stay in the village. However, Mizurina can be considered as a respite after the noisy parties of Cortina d’Ampezzo. Mizurina has her own, very small ski area (only 10 slopes) with steep slopes, but it is not too comfortable: beginners are scared, and experienced skiers are bored. Typically, tourists buy a ski pass and take a special bus to the slopes of neighboring Auronzo or San Vito di Cadore.

And there are several excursion routes: Skitour Olympia carries along difficult Olympic tracks, Sellaronda shows panoramas of the mountain range, Tour della Grande Guerra introduces the memorable places of the First World War. It’s best to go to these places in winter: Christmas in Italy is wonderful, especially if you spend it among the snow-capped mountains and smart villages sparkling with lights. In Mizurin, holidays are celebrated quietly and in a family way. In winter, Lake Misurina freezes completely (its maximum depth, by the way, is five meters). In February, equestrian polo competitions – Cortina Winter Polo Audi Gold Cup – are held on this ice.

This sight is so unusual that it gathers full stands of spectators (by the way, the entrance to the event is free.) In summer, the town boasts excellent lake landscapes: the reservoir has long inspired artists and poets. If you rise higher, on one of the observation platforms at the foot of the mountain, juicy green fields open to the eye. Livestock have been raised in these places for hundreds of years, the first mention of “branded” breeds of cows, goats and rams dates back to the 18th century. Yandex.Direct Cruise to the North Pole on the icebreaker 18+ Garden Flowers in pots. 30 varieties! Typically, tour operators suggest combining visits to two neighboring resorts: Mizurins and Cortina d’Ampezzo, so that travelers have the most vivid and complete impression of these places.

Cortina d’Ampezzo is a cozy aristocratic town, people come here not so much for “pokatushek”, but because of the atmosphere of a beautiful life: according to statistics, two out of three tourists who come to this place never go skiing. However, local routes are beyond praise. Nature itself contributes to skiing: most days of the year are sunny, and the Alps protect the resort from cold winds. Professionals choose the slopes from the peaks of Forchella-Stauniess (2,930 m.) And Ra-Valles (2,470 m.), Mid-level skiers – the slopes of Mount Tofany (3,243 m.) And Pomedes (2,345 m.), And beginners go in the town of Socrepes. From Cortina d’Ampezzo it is convenient to get to Venice, Treviso, Bolzano and Innsbruck. Experienced travelers are advised not to leave home immediately, but to carve out a couple of days and book a mini trip to the sea. Suitable, for example, Capri, turin this island can give a lot of pleasant moments, tourists are waiting for the warm sea and white beaches.
